JAC's core products are light and medium-duty trucks, including the widely exported N-Series, along with vans, the T-series pickups and a range of crossovers sold under the Refine and JS naming conventions. The company has also operated a manufacturing joint venture with Volkswagen in Anhui since 2017 and has assembled vehicles for other manufacturers.

Two things follow from JAC's commercial focus. First, a large share of JAC vehicles in service are working vehicles: light trucks and pickups running at or near payload, often on poor surfaces, often at high daily distances. Brake friction material, dampers, bushings and clutch components on those vehicles wear at a rate that has nothing to do with passenger-car service intervals, and stock planning should reflect real duty cycle. Second, JAC's naming has evolved — the Refine S4 and JS4 crossovers are closely related in several markets and parts frequently interchange between them, but "frequently" is not "always". Identifying the right JAC part

An OEM number is the vehicle manufacturer's own part number for a component. It is normally printed, stamped or moulded onto the original part, or onto a label attached to it. Aftermarket manufacturers publish cross-references linking their own catalogue numbers to those OEM numbers, and that cross-reference is what makes an order verifiable rather than an educated guess.

Cross-referencing matters because a single model line rarely uses a single part. Over a production run a manufacturer will change suppliers, revise a design mid-life, fit larger brakes to a heavier or higher-output variant, and build market-specific versions with different lighting, sensors and emissions equipment. Two vehicles that look identical in a showroom photograph can therefore take different parts. The model name narrows the search; the OEM number closes it.

What to send with a JAC enquiry

The VIN is the 17-character vehicle identification number stamped on the chassis and shown on the registration document, usually visible through the base of the windscreen and on a plate in the door aperture. It encodes the manufacturer, the model, the body and engine variant and the production sequence, which is why it resolves fitment questions that a model name cannot. Sending the following with your enquiry lets us quote against a specific part rather than a description:

  • The VIN — 17 characters, exactly as it appears on the vehicle.
  • The model year and, where you know it, the engine code or at minimum the displacement and whether it is turbocharged.
