Trucks use either air-operated disc brakes, which take pads, or drum brakes, which take shoes. Pads are friction material on a steel backing plate that the caliper presses on the disc, and they are replaced as a full axle set.
Symptoms that usually point to it on a vehicle like the FAW Jiefang JH6:
Confirm first that the axle has disc brakes. Then give the axle (front or rear), the caliper or brake model, the pad dimensions, and whether the pads carry a wear sensor.
Fitment is confirmed from the VIN and from the number on the part being replaced, not from the model name alone: engine variant, trim, market specification and mid-life revisions all change part numbers within the same model year. Send the VIN, the model year, the transmission type, whether the vehicle is left- or right-hand drive, and a photograph of the old part showing any number printed on it.
