The oil filter removes soot and wear metal before the oil reaches the bearings and turbocharger. Truck engines hold a lot of oil, and the filter is either a spin-on canister or a cartridge element in a fixed housing, sometimes with a separate bypass element.
Symptoms that usually point to it on a vehicle like the JAC Hunter:
State whether the engine takes a spin-on or a cartridge filter. For spin-on, give the thread size and gasket outside diameter; for a cartridge, the element dimensions. Give the engine model.
Fitment is confirmed from the VIN and from the number on the part being replaced, not from the model name alone: engine variant, trim, market specification and mid-life revisions all change part numbers within the same model year. Send the VIN, the model year, the transmission type, whether the vehicle is left- or right-hand drive, and a photograph of the old part showing any number printed on it.
