A shock absorber damps the spring movement so the axle or cab stops oscillating. A truck can carry dampers on the axles and also on the cab suspension, and these are different parts.
Symptoms that usually point to it on a vehicle like the FAW Jiefang J7:
Say whether it is for an axle or for the cab, front or rear, and give the mounting type at each end and the extended and compressed lengths. Confirm the axle load rating.
Fitment is confirmed from the VIN and from the number on the part being replaced, not from the model name alone: engine variant, trim, market specification and mid-life revisions all change part numbers within the same model year. Send the VIN, the model year, the transmission type, whether the vehicle is left- or right-hand drive, and a photograph of the old part showing any number printed on it.
