The alternator is a belt-driven generator that supplies the electrical load and charges the batteries. Heavy trucks commonly run a 24 volt system, and trucks with a heavy electrical load need a higher-output unit.
Symptoms that usually point to it on a vehicle like the FAW Jiefang J6L:
Give the system voltage, the rated output in amps, the pulley type and number of grooves, the plug type and the mounting bracket geometry. Give the engine model.
Fitment is confirmed from the VIN and from the number on the part being replaced, not from the model name alone: engine variant, trim, market specification and mid-life revisions all change part numbers within the same model year. Send the VIN, the model year, the transmission type, whether the vehicle is left- or right-hand drive, and a photograph of the old part showing any number printed on it.
